Hello Lovely People!

Isn't it funny, technically my life would be considered in quite a state right now but I feel like my life is the best it has ever been! sure I get stressed and I'm running out of cash fast but I'm generally quite content. How crazy is that?!? Ok... who is slipping prozack into my morning tea?!

I am knitting, but too slowly to have anything decent to show you (what with having to move all my stuff to my families and living out of a suitcase)... We did go Hot Air Ballooning which was totally awesome and I really recommend it!!!

Also I met Jack Sparrow!

Oh and I do not have a Teapot addiction or Bone China problem... no... not even a little bit... ok maybe a little... a teensy tiny amount!Or waaaaaay to many dresses!..Ok maybe I do hehe... but I am earning a little bit of money by currently being in a Gilbert and Sullivan production of HMS Pinafore!!

Ok compared to what I spending though... ahem anyway... Do you like my new earrings? £2 for cupcakes!!! Bargain! My family and I went to the RAF Air show and had a great time!

Can you believe most of these photo's were taken with my phone, it's a blackberry and very cool. So that's me. I promise to have a pair of socks knitted for my next post, and you never know, I may and a job and a flat!!! We'll see :-)

Awww I'm feeling so loved right now geeeeee!!!!! 4 actual comments and only two chinese porn sites!! YAY!!! I've made an easter resolution (I can do that right?) to do more commenting on other people blogs. Also I always have a million questions to ask everyone anyway! So the knitting blog continues....

I have some sewing to show you! (say what!)

Yeah Sorry to confuse you but sewing has been my "new thing". This is Rosaline! She is a pretty Doll (who now has button in her hips and shoulders now but haven't got a picture yet.) She is very cute, romantic and a little vain hee! I loved making her. I just need to add hair etc... I love her little nose don't you! She is an amalgamation of two dolls from the following two books:

You're gonna have to tilt your head sideways to see them though as I couldn't get this photo to go the right way for some weiiiiiird reason. (Warning! Head tiltage at head owners own risk. Do not attempt if your head is not screwed onto your neck). I got them at a book stall in Stroud Market at... wait for it... £1 each!!!!! They are £15 a book to buy new and inside the cover they £3 each so... bargain!!!!!!!! I am in heaven with these books. I wanna live like those pictures.

Anyway I've also been doing embroidery! Now this has been fun! Fast results and sooooo purty!

On an AWESOME knitting note... I HAVE WOLLMEISE!!!! Woooooooot!

Good Morning Everyone! (it's the afternoon?!? Whoops... need a coffee quick!)
Scrummy!.. Anyway back to knitting peeps!: Here's my current project; Swallowtail Shawl, knit on Knitpicks needles with Rowan's Kidsilk Haze in a lovely soft pink.

I forgot to show you my knit bag!! It was once a toiletry bag but it's so practical as a knit bag... but more imporatantly it's PRETTY!!(Note to self: see how similar pretty & petty is, use Purty!)What's that popping out of the top of the bag?? Oooo yes it's the CookieA sock that I was knitting in my last Blog. I've finished one of the socks and 50% through the second but can't continue at the moment as 'stupid' (aka MOI!) forgot to bring the pattern home (back home for half-term of course) and I don't want to guess it incase I get it hoplessly wrong and I'm trying desperately not to suffer from second sock syndrome as it is!!

Ok so the title... I'm wondering if, seeing as I don't think anyone seems to read my blog (My comments are all from Japanese sights with offers of pretty... sorry purty girls)... is it worth contnuing. I do enjoy blogging but I feel talking to thin air defeats the point, wouldn't you say (wait who am I expecting to reply!?!). Or... if anyone does read this, pleeeease let me know with a comment and/or any advice on how to increase readers... *sigh* I read on quite a few blogs but iI guess I should show my appreciation with more comments. Otherwise this blog is more of an internet diary and if that's the case I may begin a new blog for general life rather than just knitting. Let me know if you're out there.

Hello All! Plenty to talk about today!

For Christmas I made a few of these Backbone Bookmarks by Kiersten Brandt in a variety of yarns but this was the only one I remembered to photograph. Great stocking filler!

I can't remember if I posted about these mittens but here you can see I have knitted Fetching by Cheryl Niamath. Knitted from Rowan RYC Silk Wool in a lovely Duck Egg colour, these are very comfy, pretty and ALL MINE MWAH MWAH HAAAAAAAAAA!! Sorry after Christmas I had to do something!

Here being knitted outside the Royal Albert Hall in London on possibly the first sunny day this spring is the beginnings of Glynis by CookieA. Isn't it puuurty! Also all mine (teehee)! I think the yarn is Debbie Bliss but I got it on sale because it the balls had lost their tags.

I'm also working on some Basic Ribbed Socks for the lovely boyfriend. He always calls then lucky socks hehe! One done and I'm on the heel for the second. I'm trying to make them match too. He likes his socks to match just like his girlfriend :D

Here is some more Koigu that I bought from a lovely lady I met at a Socktopus meeting in London, It's going to be a shawl but I am still deciding which pattern. At the moment Travelling Woman by Liz Abinante is my favourite and it looks easy enough to start me off. And what do I store all my special balls of Gorgeous Yarn in?...

This FANTASTIC bag was made by a very talented old lady who takes up and in all my mums clothes (mum being only 5 foot that means that is nearly everything she buys). It hangs in your wardrobe and is just so fun! I love it! Looks like a naughty school girl outfit lol. Wish it was full of Wollmeise though.

Yes I have also discovered Wollmeise but do not own a single skein yet! I think as a student I'm going to have to live without until I can afford it (aka GET A JOB YOU LAZY STUDENT) but every skein is wonderful. It's crazy to get your hands on one though. Also I have been an avid ebay watcher but I have stopped now as it just makes me want things I cannot buy. Talking of which:

I so cannot afford these boots at £135 (that's $205 or 149 euros)!! But they are perfect and the shop has ordered them in my size (the pair pictured here are one size to small). They were in the sale would you believe, reduced from £175! Weep!! I want them. Maybe I should sell some things on ebay? Like I have anthing worth anything... other than yarn of course. (I think these are definately ""I don't need a job, I don't need my father, I got great boots." boots!" Rachel from Friends quote)...

Xmas and New Year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year all!!! What a great Xmas it was! Unfortunately I completely forgot to take a picture of any of the projects I knitted for anyone so now I'm gonna have to go round asking everyone to take a picture of their Xmas present for me and send it on over! I have some pictures of Zack's Hat (Taken with Jamie my Youngest Brother);It's a 4by4 Rib and then simple flaps added, my own pattern. It stretches to just fit over my own head but fits most heads as Jamie can show you;It's very versatile!

So yes the new year is upon us! I went to my first Stitch and Bitch and had a great time! Met a few lovely knitters and I'm looking forward to going again! I got some great Knitty Presents!! Knit Clicks interchangeable needles, Cookie A and Glamphyre books, January Sale Wool!! It's Been awesome! The New years resolution has to be save money. I need a job PRONTO!

Stash Closing!

Unfortunately, Stash in Putney, London, is closing on the 19th of December. I've wanted to go for ages so I took this opportunity to go visit and spent waaaay too much money! Here's a picture of what a got!
I got three skeins of koigu, two balls of eco Debbie Bliss and... can you see... Manga moon!!! It cost around £20 but it is soooooooooo gorgeous! It's a lovely blue, purple colour and has beautiful beads and Amethyst beads woven into it! This is going to be something very special just for me! I'm think a neck/head scarf.

Are you jelous, don't be I'm eating dog food this week (not really ;-p) xxx

Summing Up

Ok... maybe I should tell you how I did in November:

1. Knit Xmas animals for all friends (not making up and stuffing). I've Done a few of these but not all and I really need to get cracking so that's a Halfdone.

2. Write/complete at least one song! Fail - I didn't even look at my own music this much which just goes to show me where I'm lacking in my priorities!

3. Write out completed song and put in folder. Fail - see above!

5. Xmas Cards written and sent. (yes I like to be ahead for this)

6. Return all overdue library books and pay fines. Done! - All librairies and all books YAY!

7. Have a present bought or at least planned for all family! You know what I did this and then lost the list so I'm saying it's Done and Now the first on my list for next month is...

December 2009 Goals

1. Find Xmas Present List!

2. Buy/Make all presents by Dec 25th (for obvious reasons)

3. Make a Wish List. (I'm reading Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber and I think I should put some effort into crafting a nice wish list for myself. I've already got a few which I may post about soon!)

4. Organise getting families together for 20th and then going to see wicked on the 21st!

5. Go to Stash before it closes down!

6. Return/Renew current books by 23rd December.

7. Go ice-skating with Dylan in London.

8. Organise song folder. (After how bad I did on my songwriting last month I think my songs deserve TLC.)

Three Dones, one Halfdone and two Fails... That's not so bad I think can live with that.

Simple and Sweet

As I mentioned before I am doing many projects as Xmas Presents for my female friends which involve knitting something in their favourite colour... well this means I HAVE TO (of course... :-s) buy new yarn in that colour to suit them. This also means that I'm left over with about half a ball of yarn in various awesome colours! So what to do with these leftovers??? Molly's Headband!
This was jumping another hurdle for me as before this project i COULD NOT read charts and NOW I CAN!!! It was the maths of the yarn over that bummed me. This project only took me about 4 hours once I'd figured out what to do. It is knit with Debbie Bliss Prima on 3.5mm needles. It is currently blocking and I can't wait to start wearing it!

It's getting close to the end of November and how am I doing on my November list? NOT TELLING!

November 2009 Goals

I have been inspired by my fellow blogger Kelliebelle to do a list of goals that I hope to have done by the end of the month. I'm going to start this month easily so I don't give up too soon:

1. Knit Xmas animals for all friends (not making up and stuffing). College braks up early December and most my friends will have gone home by then so these need to be done this month.

Hello November

I have been knitting! Yay!

I've also had some great ideas for Xmas involving knitting!!! I've asked all my female friends to give me their fav colour, animal and name and I'm going to knit them a Kafu (knitted animal for you!). It's been really interesting to seee how my friends choices reflect them as a person and also how interesting their choices are (like otter and an ocelot!!) It's been really fun! For my Aunt I am knitting "My So Called Scarf" in Debbie Bliss 'SoHo' which looks lovely and is coming along nicely!
If I did this pattern again I would slip the first and last stitch of the knit row instead of K1 to make the edge a little neater. I may add a crocheted edge anyway... maybe, but it's look nice enough.

the socks have gone for wa lk somewhere but when I find them I will take some pictures. I'll also put up a page for the Xmas presents and describe to you more about my intentions behind them.

So I get an email from Knitting daily which I have always loved reading and catching up on knitting news, and there is a post about a new book called Knitted Jackets: 20 Designs from Classic to Contemporary which looks like a good, interesting book probably aimed for the more mature knitter. What had me flabbergasted was that the write up was called
Flatter the figure; knit jackets with style

Oh yes... veeery figure flattering. Don't get me wrong I think the patterns are good, (I like the cropped cardi a lot, even though it is way too big for the model) but I do not like misleading titles.

Anyway What have I been up to? I've been knitting bamboo socks, pictures soon. I haven't been doing as much knitting lately what with life! Winter is approaching though and I do believe Xmas will be creeping closer.

See... this is why I don't have a pet!! I just can't take care of anything! Not even an itty bitty little blog. Poor Blog. There there, have some pictures:

I "kind of" inherited these and a huge amount of buttons, Aren't they cool! I love the cross stitch measuring tape and needle holder!!!! I've also been spending again:

Sale yarn in above picture and full price in below, sexy huh? And yes that IS noro!!!! In RAINBOW!!!! And the yarn underneath the Noro (if you can see it under the Noro splendour) is Mirasol Yarn Chirapa in a beautiful purple red colourway YUM YUM. They are currently on the needles to become Mitt Envy just like these. Noro... well do you have any suggestions?

I've also done my first socks YAY!!! I used the two-at-a-time method on circulars from this book! It's such a good method and Dylan loves his new socks :D

Also on the needles is my first lace project... can't remember where I got to on the pattern though so frogging might be needed :(

Sexy cowl

This pattern was Darkside Cowl and the whole experience was amazing. I knitted it in about one day and a bit (and got paid for it too as I was Stewarding for auditions at College!). I love this yarn so much! I seem to have it cracked where as other yarn I still struggle with (it's hard to explain but some just knit themselves!) The pattern was simple too, especially after you memorized the pattern. he cowl is so cosy and warm and fits me perfectly! I only cast on 80 and did it on 4mm needles but I have a small head so I'd recommend 4mm for everyone else. I used the remainder to make a broach which I put on a black hat to make it all match (as seen in last post)!

I hope you had a great day and are looking forward to getting red-nosed on New Years Eve! I know I am! I mainly been given money this Xmas so Yarn Spendage YAY! I have a very cool pressie to show you all...Don't you love! It's soooo sharp and has a chain to go round my neck! Can you see the yarn and needles! All the way from Bruges! Amazing! Which is where I went about a week ago to show off my new cowl and Hat! (better pictures to come!)I also got this from bruges from Dylan, isn't it pretty! Beautiful lace work! This particular one is machine done, but Dylan got one that was hand made for his mum which is just as lovely! They even had fences with yarn pattern! It was so gorgeous. I really recommend it as a great weekend holiday!
Well that's all for today. I'm going to get back to ejoying Xmas! Lots of love and Hope you all got lotsa cool knitty things for Xmas!

Piccy's YAY!

So what has the Delmyster been up to I hear you ask! I have so much to show you but not much to say so lets let the camera do the talking:Little present for Starry! She should have it now so, hopefully, it's ok to put it up. The pattern is Elefante and you can find it here! It was so fun to knit and isn't she just UBER cute. I can't crochet so I made up a knitted ear that curls a little for a real feminine look. I named her Yella Nella and now I WANT ONE TOO! I've got so many other things to do at the mo' but maybe when Xmas is over then... I think a rainbow elefante is a must!

Here's a pen being sold in WHSmiths! Knitters go and get it!! I know it's computer graphics but it's in Stocking Stitch and it's CUTE!! No I'm not obsessed, ok a little bit... ok A LOT!

YAY fnished wrist warmers. They turned out so well! I'm so happy with them and they've got a lovely Autumn feel to the. Oooo I also found out I could do some really arty things with my camera:

Just a quickie before I have my singing lesson...

Here are some cutre photo's of my nephew finding my acrylic wool and getting caught in the act... looks like he doesn't approve of it's texture and is telling me to get some merino! Maybe I should take his advice lol.

Also here are the finished Devil pants! Aren't they cute!!!!

One more thing, competition going on over at Liz's here! It's so good to see knitters celebrating the anniversary on when they joined the world of knitting! January 8th will be my year so stay tuned... there will be a competition!

Long time No Blog

Right... seeing as I haven't been on here ages (She's not the Messiah, she's a very naughty girl) I'll make it up to you with all the knitty things I have been up to (and there is many)! Lotsa pics too!!

Right so first up is my cabled wrist warmer (only one for now)! Done in a very Autumnal yarn and on 3.5mm needles. This is for my guitar beau to keep his hands warm when he practises. Hope he likes them! They're my own pattern but inspired by these!

Next up is my adaptation of Lil Devil Pants for Lisa's new baby boy Leo. Done on 4mm circulars with Sirdar's snuggly DK. I knid of changed it a lot so it's quite a big hop skip and a jump from the actual pattern.

LOTSA HATS done for innocent smotthies BIG KNIT but didn't get to hand them in on time so I'm going to hold onto them for next year. Or just knit lots teddies to wear them! What did I discover from this? No not that I can't commit to anything properly but that I CAN"T DO POM POMS!!! Seriously I have a problem with the pom pom!

And I'm also doing... ahhhhhh I can't tell you cos It's for Starry and she can't see it ;-p but it's uber cute and YELLOW! As you can see from the photo's above I have been doing a LOOOOOT of shopping!! And this is only a bring together of my fav's and no where near all I've bought@ Money... running... out... so ... many... pretty... things!

Ooooooo I almost forgot... introducing Dylan!

You've seen him a couple of times in my profile before... once with a beard and once with make-up, it was a very funny night! He's also keen at knitting too and crochet, so maybe (once and a while) he'll have a few things to say. He's decided to get right on to making gnomes! Wow! I'm happy with easy clothes for now never mind complicated toys. He's also trying to learn Contempory knitting which I just CAN'T do. I know I should learn to makes my knitting faster but I feel so comfy in English style now. He has the best hair! I just want to knit with it. Here's some pictures he took and yes, I was knitting in hyde park on a lovely crisp Autumn day. It was GREAT!

Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet

So it's finished YAY!!! Here are some pictures...

It's soooooooo pretty. Do you like my mummy's clasp. I want to get my own one! It's lovely! Warm, pretty, hides my arms lol! I'm very happy with it and the wool is very cosy! If anyone wants the measurements for a size 12 then just comment!

I also found another TV knitting moment... too much time in front of the box!

Oh... I went to the local Library the other day in Perton and guess how many knitting books they had!

Ok so in the same day, while I was playing with my camera, knitting came up TWICE...

...once on the Simpsons...

...and once on Monty Pithon!

Seems like everyone is into their red/orange jumpers!! Anyway...

So yeh I've been getting on with that Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet and it's about 50% done in 2 days. Very quick! My mum's fiance turned to me and we had the following conversation...

Will: What are those rings for? (see above, I couldn't find anything better as stich markers)

Me: They help me to remeber when do change my stitch at certain points during the work.

Will: Oh good, I thought you were trying to make a bondage outfit or somethin. But of course bondage a knitting don't mix!

Me: Weeeellllll, actually...

And then I showed him a book I'd bought!

So yeh... going back to the piece. It was looking good, BUT... I had to re-learn my yarn-over's as I only have one hole rather than two on the increases around the arm. When I looked it up i was doing it completely wrong... but rather than start again i grabbed another pair of needles the same size, cast on 77 rather than 49 (I used the first piece as a swatch you might say) and even though I've only really begun, it is already looking 10 times neater. I'm now doing it on circular's rather than squashing the piece on straights... and I used a different cast on method called long tail cast on! It looks very neat... just make sure you have LOTS of tail! I hope the piece will come out better now. You can already see that the size is better.

So that's all for now. Apologies to Starry for not being able to send her knitting package... I've got a bit of making up to do. Oh btw... what were you doing on world wide knit in public day?

Update: Unfortunately, due to many circumstances, my previously mentioned boyfriend and I have decided, mutually, to brake up. We went on a brake over a month ago but decided to finally brake up about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately we are still very good friends and I hope he keeps up the knitting :-p

What to write on a knitting blog when you really haven't done much knitting! There's a reason to this I'll have you know! I haven't just become bored of knitting for no reason. I've actually been living out of a suitcase since goodness know when and, due to my lack of space, knitting hasn't been on the list of prorities. I keep trying to start a project but, with the amount that I have had to rip and frog, I have just given up until I have access to needles and yarn. The reason for living out of a suitcase? Basically I've been living on a sofa this summer holiday (don't ask why) and also I've been to Turkey with my best friend Dylan. His family and I drove from England to Turkey in 3-4 days, Passing through Germany, Austria, Hungary,Serbia (never again), Bulgaria and then Turkey! Here are some photo's of the journey. So yeh I had a great time but couldn't take any knitting. I'm home now and managed to dig out some needles and some "click chunky with wool" in blue. I'm hoping to do Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet with it. That's if I actually manage to finish a project EVER! I'm sick of frogging!

I know it has been aaaaaaaaaaaaaages!!! I haven't got much news on the knitting front. Actually I've been putting my yarn to less enjoyable but more nessasary purposes :-s

Yes, my Bigga yarn was used as washing line!!! Oh dear. I really haven't been able to do much seeing I'll be moving out of halls soon and I have a big Repertoire exam tomorrow!! But I have two things:-

Yes I have been on Ravelry for ages but I think I forgot to mention.... I've also been helping my friends cross dress!!! Amazing fun! I am knitting a teddy at the mo and planning on doing a vest for my nephew and a scarf for me. I'm getting better at planning my knitting but still not so good at actually doing it lol! Ok so I have a few questions....

1. Does my mother look like my sister?

2. Do you like the picture my friend (above in white) did?

It's Raining Books!

It was one of those days... I decided to give The boyfriend's room a clean when...Yep the bookcase colasped and banged me in the shoulder, if I'd been at the computer it could have ended up pretty bad! Also I had so much work to catch up on when I got to college so decided to cheer mself up with a little nail painting. Yes, I HAVE every colour of the rainbow!

So! Yes lets talk about knitting! Ok first off is a squidgy bag that I knit for myself and have been using it since. feels sooooo nice! needs lining when I learn to sew! Also have been working on a sock. It's got a lot foruther now but the heal is so terrible that I couldn't take a photo so here it is when it looked good. I'm going to turn it into a toy/teddy thing for a friends birthday. Talking of!

Here is mustard with his new owner Hellie. I knitted him three days before her birthday and she LOVED him. She might be taking him around the world too! She was showing him off all night! I couldn't help feel a little proud! It was so nice to get a present that someone loves! The yarn was 50p from a charity shop and I still have loads!

Ohhh and also I've started my first swap with Starry but I won't reveal anything until I've sent it (teehee). Limit is 5 pounds and theme is colour! Btw any good tips??

Knitting Over Easter

I know, I know. I've neglected you and I'm very sorry... ok maybe just a bit sorry... Oh ok not really at all but I've had a well deserved holiday and I have a lot to say!

I've finished my first large-ish project! It wasn't from any singular pattern "persay" but was loosely based on the infamous Ribbed Lace Bolero . Instead of doing the lace pattern though, I decided just to double the stitches on a different, thinner yarn and do stockinette. It ended up being a really baggy and warm shawl which is just what I need (it doesn't get warm much in England, that or I'm related to a Dinosaur!). (BTW don't you think Mark is a great photographer?!)

I also tried doing an improvised vest/cardi thing with Sirdar Bigga but I don't like it and i'll probably frog it into something with a pattern. I'm deperately looking for inspiration... Thank goodness for Ravelry.

I've also done two headscarfs. One is very big for indoor sloppy wear (Pattern: Calorimetry) and one smaller and neater for outdoors (Pattern: Faithful Companion Headband). Very handy for bad hair days(or in the case of the picture below, bad everything days)! I've only got a picture of the larger one for now, as you can see it was done on bamboo's! I don't want to ever use metal again after bamboo.

I have a problem, I can't stop buying KNIT THINGS!! It's a big problem, seriously. I go to Borders and I want every book they have, I go to a yarn shop and I feel like a spoilt 5 year old "I want them ALL!". I don't know how my boyfriend manages to drag me out "Let me feel one more skein pleeeeease!" Even in Tesco or Waterstones he sees me edging towards the craft magazine section. Damn my OCD tendancies. I'm glad i couldn't make the Olympia Knit show else I might have gone crazy! Don't believe me? Remeber that picture I showed of my stash when I first started knitting? Well now here's what it looks like!--->

ok well at least it's not this big! ACtually compared to most knitters this is relatively small but I'm a very poor student, so poor that I went over my overdraft and got a letter scary letter from the bank, oh dear...

Catch up and Baby Mittens!!!

Hello there! Been a while... right well the reason for my absence has been these...

The colours a little off in this picture (they're a little lighter as you can see below) but I'm so proud of them. I keep saying "Have you seen my mittens?" and I keep getting "Yes Adele!" tee hee! Oh and they're bigger than they look. I promise to take a picture with Zack wearing them soon! Working with DPN's was fussy but great fun. Next step is using circular!

Oh here's how my purse is panning out, I love the big pink one!The other thing I did was a compensatory present. When I first got my bear (which was a loooong time ago, she's almost as old as me) I lost her heart jumper... so seeing as I'm not at jumper standard level I made a wrap! I went shopping! Guess where...Oh yes I did! It was like a finding candy store in a magical land... well what I mean by that is it was very hard to find and I nearly got lost... When I entered I was so happy to find so much beautiful yarn. I did feel a little shunned by the huge table of women taking all the space in the shop though so I know what you mean KnittyKat! None the less I bought some Sublime Merino Wool and gorgeous Manos 100% wool. I can't wait to knit with these. Can't stand squeeky acrylic any longer. Next time I go though I might have to go with someone, bit of a daunting trip on my own. I still need to visit Loop though. Any one wanna join me? Here is how the purse is going-->

Bit gutted bthat the purse I choses doesn't quite fit my gauge rular. Damn! also the flower on the far right is too big so I'm going to take this off and do it again on smaller needles, but I like where it's going. Oh and I finished the Valentine dish cloth! Woo! Very pround of it am I (ok Yoda put the needles down...)

One more thing before I go, do you keep finding little circles of hair wrapped around your ball thread? I do...

Doesn't look like much, that's because I'd only managed one flower before my camera ran outta battery and I still haven't had time (or memory) to charge it. I'm also working on another piece which I'm relly pround of. Ok it's just a flannel but it's a pretty flannel and it has make me learn a lot about following patterns and counting in knitting. It'll look great when finished and blocked (I hope) but I'll get my camera charged so I can send you some lovely pictures bfore the week is out. Oh and one more thing! I love rainbow socks, don't you?

Wish I had rainbow tights like the model in the Let's Knit Mag! Oh and one more thing before I go. I have this beautiful yarn which is oh so flooffy and ribbony (see below) and I just bought it because it was pretty but I don't have a clue as to what I could knit it up to be... I just don't want to do another scarf... Any suggestions?

A Valentine Project

Ok... I've done the scarf!!!! Woo, it took forever but I finally finished and it just needs blocking, here it is just to show how loooooong it is! -----> Any way after I finished it I felt like the4 scarf just wasn't enough and I wanted to do something a little extra and quick! That's when I descovered this beautiful Heart Bookmark pattern! It knit up super fast and was even easy enough for me! As long as you know how how to knit, purl and yarn over (and knit and purl 2 together) then this is no problem, and looks uber cute! My baby loves books so this is just perfect, though mine wasn't quite as holey, might be that the yarn was too fluffy though...

I bought the yarn the other day, as well as more purple for my boyf to knit me a long enough scarf and some very pretty pink lace mixed with wool! I just had to have it, now I gotta find a use!

The other thing i've been doing in practising decreasing and stockinette stich on white wool just to give to the Opera department (yes I go to a music college) for opera scenes. They were very pleased with this. ------>

For some reason it gets loose on that one row but the rest is fine... I must have been doped or something (I don't do drugs, I just get high on life maaaan!)

Do It Like Grandma!

Hey guys! I got a few friends together for a meat and knit and it went great! We decided to call ourselves "Do it like Grandma!" and so far there are 4 members! not including me there is -->

It went really well, there was chocolate, wine and berets! We watched Duckular and discoved that 'Nanny' liked to do the odd bit of knitting when on strike from working (as we all do!).

I had an absolutely wonderful time and hope to make it monthly so thanks guys for making my Day a proud one!
Oh and also... here's a lookie at the finger knit my lovely hunk made me, all complete!

Finger Knitting

So... was brousing the old net the other day, through various knitters blogs, and came across PieKnits which forwarded me onto a link about Finger Knitting which I decided to try out and ended up with this...
It took me 15 minutes to make this new fluffy skinny scarf which is brilliant! It was sooo easy that I decided to teach my lovely boyf how to do it. ------>
Isn't a man knitting, like, Uuuuuuber sexy! We had so much fun and now I have a new pink head scarf! Afterwards, I taught him how to knitwith needles! ------>I'm so proud of him and one day when he's finished my purple scarf I'll add some jeweled ribbon and pretty tassles onto the end and I can say "My boyfriend knit me this!" I'm getting their with his scarf, I've just designed a pattern for his initials to be in the scarf to match the heart and nearly missed getting off the train because I was taking photo's of it!
Oh! I also dyed my hair! ------>

What do you think? Iwas going for a more purple/pink colour but it came out very red... I'm not minding though! It looks good and it's better than the other dyes I've used which stain your clothes and skin! Could be worse...

Poor Boot

Oh my poor boot...

These are my favourite boots and there is a tear in the seam by the foot and beacause I have only been nitting my babies Valentine scarf then I thought I'd share my attempt at sewing. I haven't got a recieptfor the boots so as an attempt to save my babies I have decided to get my sewing kit out and cover the rip with the bows from the side of the boot. My sewing ability isn't that great but what I lack in small, strong stitches I make up in imagination and sheer passion for my beautiful boots. Here is my boot wish afor mentioned bow taken off the side and the seem being sewn with red thread (i didn't have the beautiful cranberry that would have blended with my shoe) and my little sewing bag, which is very handy on long trips away!

Ok so this is what the boot looks like now... I'm not really sure if I like the bow on the inside of the shoe though... feels off balence for me and I'm wondering if I should undo it all and just get some cranberry thread and sew up the seam. I'm not sure if it will show though. I'm deperate to save these boots though. I've done it on both boots for now so at least I can wear them a little. It's so sad when this happens. It normally always happens to your favourite pair as well. Suede you devil... you soft and beautiful but easy to tear material you! Any way so this is what they look like now!

I'm still not sure if I like them... Any comments on whether I should keep them would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I've started the second ball on my baby's scarf it's now this long ---->

Shopping Spree!!!

Went shopping today at John Lewis on Oxford Circus!!! Ok it was no quant yarn shop filled with colourful delights but it was UBER GREAT none the less. I got a gauge ruler, Knitting bag and a sock set (two 4ply sock yarns and 4 double ended 2.5mm needles). Here's how all my knitting looks now.

It's so beautiful (wipes a tear)!! The two balls at the front I also bought for my other half to practise with (any excuse to get a purple scarf). Talking of which here's how long the black scarf is now...

It's going to end up double that length... hope I finish it in time! ended up spending 2 hours last night unravelling the end of the ball, it all started getting attached to itself and wouldn't unravel. Feel like I have knitting hangover today! I need a cup of tea!! Oh for the love of tea!

Woman on bus gave me a headache, no she wasn't noisy she was brightly coloured (fluorescent pink tracksuit (size 16 I might add), peach head scarf *CLASH* and then to top it off she was wearing the most invading perfume I have ever smelt. People... for the sake of migraine suffers that live among you, please be subtle and sparing on the perfume. It'll save you money and, as long as you're clean, you won't smell like an incense factory. Of course if you smoke then you are excused... Anyway lovelys I must dash and get that cuppa (five sugars please...)

First Finished Item!!!

That's right I've finished my first item and it's my burgandy scarf... I just couldn't put it down when I saw how close to the end I was and now it's done!!

I thought the binding off would confuse me but luckily my stitch and bitch book had a very easy method so I'm uber happy today cos I'm wearing my new item loud and proud with my exellent one pound eighty top!

Train Embarrassment

Yes... so I was on the train about a week and a half ago going home ( was feeling very poorly and needed love and TLC) and I decided to take my knitting to pass time. I was feeling quite content dispite Mrs Coughcoughhack and Mr Achoo (My cold wasn't quite as... verbal) and I seem to get quite a bit of attention none the less...

Do you think it was the knitting or the top "please ignore my magnificant breasts"... I should get ATTENTION SEEKER tattooed of my head maybe, teehee! I also started a second project on the train using a furry burgandy yarn I found in a charity shop. a whole bag was a pound and I plan on making a scarf and some knitted slippers!

Knitting on the train really passes the time and
now my needles are in my bag (and out in my hands) constantly. This means that in a week my burgandy scarf is almost done! The black is getting long now too. It will definately be done by th 14th of Feb!! can't wait to see the look on my lovely Valentines face! He's been very good to me these 8 months so I think he deserves it. I shouldn't have done it on worsted wool, 5mm needles and then casting on 45 sts. it is taking a bit long where as the burgandy wool only needed 20 sts and is on 7mm needles so it'll be done in no time!

Knitting really is my new love! I really really enjoy doing it and get a great sence of achievement through it. I nearly lost my scarf the other day and thought about frogging the lot but I managed to weave my needle at a lower point and save a lot of time so I'm learning more every day woo! My sexy man is looking forward to his scarf too which is uber cute of him. xxx

Hello all! My name is Adele and this is my first post on my Knitting BLOG!! Exiting stuff :-p

Well I haven't been knitting very long so do bear with me if my knits are a little slow. I started to knit when I was about 7 but only managed a red square with many holes and left it unfinished somewhere (I'm still looking for it lol!) I then picked up the habbit again quite recently as I needed an activity I could do when I had a migraine and TV, computers and reading all make my migraines worse... and so my knitting REBORN!

I've just started my first project (having read Stitch 'n Bitch, the knitters handbook) which is a plain black acrylic scarf on 5mm sticks. After doing about a squares worth I decided of just knitting I decided to be all ambitious and add a pattern in purls... Luckily I didn't mess up and here it is...

Luckily my boyfriend is very keen on the scarf (heart and all) so when it's done I'll get him to model it for you (maybe I should ask him.. )

My next piece is going to be a triangular head scarf so I can start learning to increase and decrease but I'll keep you updated on my beginner scarf.
